When Elena approached Studio IB Milano, she wasn’t looking for a table. She was searching for a statement—something worthy of her lakeside villa and her lifelong passion for Italian art and architecture.
During our initial design session, Elena spoke about her grandfather’s marble quarry in Carrara, the chiaroscuro of Italian Renaissance paintings, and the way light moved across the water at dusk. These emotions became our brief.
We sourced a rare slab of Arabescato Corchia, full of lyrical veining and soft luminosity. The design featured cantilevered edges, echoing the cliffs of Lake Como, with a hand-sculpted base that felt almost weightless—anchored in heritage, yet ethereal in form.
Today, that bespoke marble furniture design sits in Elena’s dining room, reflecting candlelight, lake mist, and three generations of stories.
